Fred Hanna, an associate at SMITH | ROBINSON, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Federal Bar Association South Carolina Chapter.
Founded more than a century ago, the Federal Bar Association includes attorneys who practice in federal courts and the judges who preside over them. Its goal is advancing jurisprudence and promoting professional development. Members have access to continuing legal education programs that let them explore best practices and learn about innovative ideas.
In addition to serving on the South Carolina Chapter’s Board of Directors, Hanna is a member of the South Carolina Bar’s Qui Tam Section and its Younger Lawyers Division. “I look forward to continuing to support this outstanding organization throughout my time on the board,” he said.
Hanna is authorized to appear at all levels of federal court in South Carolina. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Based in the SMITH | ROBINSON Columbia office, Hanna focuses on civil litigation, primarily complex business disputes and appellate work. He represents individuals, businesses, and government entities in state and federal courts.
Hanna was honored in the 2027 edition of Best Lawyers in America®: Ones to Watch for his work in Commercial Litigation and Appellate Practice. He is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law.
