Director of Administration
Columbia Office
SMITH | ROBINSON is seeking a full-time Director of Administration for our Columbia, South Carolina, office. Please review the job description below to ensure you meet the requirements prior to applying for this position.
Key Responsibilities
-
Provide strategic leadership and oversight of administrative operations, including HR, IT, business development, and facilities.

Partner with firm leadership to develop and execute operational and growth strategies.

Champion a firm culture that reflects the firm’s values, promotes collaboration, and supports employee engagement and development.

Manage and mentor administrative staff, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and collaboration.
-
Lead recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and retention initiatives.
-
Evaluate and improve firm processes, systems, and workflows to increase efficiency and scalability.
-
Support technology initiatives and the adoption of tools that reflect best practices and enhance productivity and efficiency.

Identify and support firmwide and individual attorney marketing and business development initiatives
-
Oversee facilities management and space planning to accommodate firm growth.
- Other duties as assigned/required.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree required
-
7–10+ years of administrative or operations leadership experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment
-
Demonstrated experience building strong teams, developing talent, and fostering a positive workplace culture
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Proven leadership and team management skills
-
Strong business acumen and experience managing budgets and operations

Ability to think strategically while executing tactically

High level of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment
