Gabriel Millar joins SMITH | ROBINSON law firm’s Columbia office

Attorney Gabriel Millar has joined the Columbia office of SMITH | ROBINSON law firm as an associate. He will focus his practice in the areas of Insurance Defense, Local Government Representation, Public Utilities, and Tort Claims Act Litigation.

Gabriel earned his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law in 2026, where he was inducted into the Order of the Barristers and was a Best Team winner in the J. Woodrow Lewis Memorial Moot Court Competition. He served as Vice President of both the Student Bar Association and the National Security & Law Society and was a board member of the Lincoln-Douglas Debate Society.

Before law school, he earned a Master of Public Policy from Pepperdine University’s School of Public Policy in 2023 and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Georgia in 2020.

He began working at SMITH | ROBINSON as a law clerk in June 2025. His prior experience includes clerkships with the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office, Capital and Collateral Litigation division, and the Office of the Governor, as well as an externship with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. He also served as a research assistant to Maj. Gen. Tom Mullikin and to Ambassador Robert O’Brien, the 27th National Security Advisor to the President.

Gabriel is a member of the South Carolina Bar, admitted in November 2026.

“I’m grateful to join a firm where I already know the people and the work. Clerking here showed me the standard this team holds itself to, and I’m eager to contribute as an attorney,” he said.

Outside the office, Gabriel enjoys golfing, boxing, chess, playing classical piano, and reading.
