LITIGATION PARALEGAL
Columbia Office

SMITH I ROBINSON is seeking a full-time litigation paralegal for our Columbia, South Carolina, office.   Please review the job description below to ensure you meet the requirements prior to applying for this position.

Duties/Responsibilities
1.       Prepare, review, and electronically file documents in state and federal court.
2.       Review, organize, and summarize discovery responses, document production,and deposition transcripts.
3.       Obtain, compile, and organize materials and information necessary for management of litigation files (i.e., investigative reports, medical records, witness statements, affidavits, etc.)
4.       Schedule and maintain calendar for cases, including depositions, mediations, hearings, and other appointments as needed throughout litigation.
5.       Docket court filings, deadlines, and scheduling orders.
6.       Draft, serve, and track discovery.  Draft correspondence, emails, and other documents as needed.
7.       Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, mediation, and trial.
8.       Communicate with clients, co-counsel, and the court as needed.
9.       Maintain a working knowledge of the case issues, documents, and deadlines.
10.   Other duties as assigned/required.

Minimum Requirements
1.       3-5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal.  Paralegal certificate preferred but not required. 
2.       Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
3.       Organizational skills and attention to detail.
4.       Strong oral and written communication skills.
5.       Accuracy and thoroughness in work.
6.       Problem solving and reasoning ability.
7.       Research and analytical skills.
8.       Team player.  Willingness to help others when needed.
9.       Professional demeanor in the workplace and in interactions with outside counsel, staff, and clients.

LITIGATION ATTORNEY
Columbia Office

SMITH | ROBINSON is seeking a full-time licensed litigation attorney and transactional attorney to join our team in Columbia, SC. Litigation candidates should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in general litigation or judicial clerkship.  Transactional candidates should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
